Word of Advice [Day 1, LA]

There was one other unexpected person on Addy's mind after that meeting, and this one was far easier. So, here she was seeking out the kid of their little group. Some things weren't best left unsaid. Even among the worst the galaxy might have had to offer in a place where folk like them were the norm. In a marketplace where words spoken almost always wound up connected to someone losing something they wish they hadn't, from the least of that to the most extreme. These words were the few that would be shared to remind of what might not have to be lost after all.

Alsten Was wondering the Bazaar, apparently lookign for some of the odds and ends that he might be missing for the coming job. Though he had most of what he thought he might need he didn't think it would hurt to check things out anyways.

If he spotted his partner in crime among the crowd, he didn't let on. He'd no idea why one of them would want to chat with him either. They didn't know each other all that well after all.

Addy approached from behind Alsten with a bat she purchases from one vendor or another quite cheaply. As she walked up she put the hat down onto his head and walked up, shoulder by shoulder, and started to browse whatever he'd been looking at.

"Was hoping I'd manage to find you," she said.

[Chomaron Paladash]

'Gear up' she said. There wasn't a heck of a lot of stuff he really needed, but there was a sale on...

Chomaron walked around the stalls looking for ways to enhance the rifle he'd so recently acquired from one careless owner. There was something here for just about any occasion.

Addy approached from behind Alsten with a bat she purchases from one vendor or another quite cheaply. As she walked up she put the hat down onto his head and walked up, shoulder by shoulder, and started to browse whatever he'd been looking at.

"Was hoping I'd manage to find you," she said.

He glanced towards the older woman for a moment. Raising an eyebrow and tugging the hat off his head so he he could give it a look.

"So you could give me a hat?"

"Give you something to cover yourself," she said, looking down over at an assortment of items nearby. Glancing back to him she gave a short shrug.

Meeting his eyes with a seriousness to her own, "Just- be careful about this job, hmm? Any job with a promise like this one has a risk you're never aware of. Take stock of what you got, and really think about it," she looked away and picked up one of the various items and started looking it over, some handscanner or thing like it. "Jobs like this go sour and you can lose things you didn't realize you had."

"Might be nice knowing what exactly those things I could lose are " Alsten replied his lips twitching into a slight smirk, though it quickly disappeared.

He placed the hat back on his head. "You got a list of things you don't want to lose somewhere? Or you going to be doing some thinking yourself?"

Setting the handscanner-thing back where she found it she looked to him. Thinking her answer over once more before she said, "Doing some kind of thinking myself-" she shrugged- "nothing that's gonna change my being here at least. Can't lose what you haven't gotten back."

"But while we're here, and before you go and do that thinking. You lookin' for something?" she said, quirking a brow and indicating the markets, in general, with a nod of her head.

Chomaron finally settled on that Forearm Grip he'd been meaning to pick up for his rifle. It was launch day after all.

Setting the handscanner-thing back where she found it she looked to him. Thinking her answer over once more before she said, "Doing some kind of thinking myself-" she shrugged- "nothing that's gonna change my being here at least. Can't lose what you haven't gotten back."

"But while we're here, and before you go and do that thinking. You lookin' for something?" she said, quirking a brow and indicating the markets, in general, with a nod of her head.

"Kinda." Alsten replied letting the woman change topics. No need to hang on to the previous one too tight. "Nothing too pricey like him though." He gestured towards the krakordoan and his new purchase.

"Maybe a few stims ir a few other odds and ends? A cultural primer on our destination maybe? You?"

Looking to where Alsten directed, Addy let out an amused huff through her nostrils. Shaking her head a little, "Nothing I think I need just yet, but we'll see when thing start shaping up a bit more, hmm?" she chuckled.

"Not a bad idea to get your head into how they do things over there though."

[Alsten Linth]

"Yeah, can't say I know much about that particular planet." He admitted with a frown. "Got a bit of time to change that though, and figure I might as well use it."

Not that there were a large amoutn of places to syudy in a place liek this. In fact he was pretty certain there wasn't anything in the way of a library.

"It's a good idea. Though- not sure how much a book can really give a good impression, hmm?" she smirked, glanced off toward the better part of the ship. Somewhere out in that direction there was certainly one of the people she had in mind.

"Could always just ask a little more from Syn.. or Olon? Someone's sure to know a bit more about the planet, or at least someone who's actually been there. Pamphlets-" she waved her hand- "primers, whatever, they're a bit too idyllic. Get someone who's visited and you'll get a better idea of what they're actually like."

[Alsten Linth]

"Why I planned to do both." Alsten replied with a shrug. "I figure people are likely a better source. People are also prejudiced and flawed though. They don't remember things perfectly and what they do recall is influenced by who they are."

"You take the information they give ya and compare it to what you read about a place and you might be able to get a clearer view of the truth."

"Smart kid-" she smirked, shaking her head- "shouldn't expect any different though. Might have a better idea of it than I do even. Anyway," she glanced to another place in the market and raised a brow to see if he was interested in moving on from this spot.

"You're young- Syn knows you, and you're here with the rest of us. All of which points to you being a bit better than the rest, hmm? Seems a pretty good start on getting you figured out, so what's your story?"

[Alsten Linth]

"I wouldn't say I'm better then anybody." Alsten replied with a shrug and a frown. "Don't figure i have much story either, at least not much im gonna share out on the streets."

"I suppose I can tell you I'm from Nar Shaddaa though, and well I've been getting into trouble and out of it for longer then ya might expect."

"Everyone's got a story, but-" she gave a little wave of her hand in his direction, conceding to the point. "Nar Shaddaa doesn't seem like the easiest place to grow up, hmm? One of those places that you figure out how to come out on top or get crushed beneath the weight of it all. Getting out- being here, means something," she glanced to him with that comment.

[Alsten Linth]

"I'll take your word for that." He had honestly only barely gotten out. "But you're right, it's not a easy place to grow up. For most folks it's not even a easy place to live. Course if you have money or skills you can make your way well enough."

"That's the same for most places in the galaxy though. Here included." Stopping by a shop he picked up a pair of stims. "How about you? Where are you from anywyas?"

"It's a good enough lesson to learn," she commented, but let the comment slide into the air. Stopping alongside him she glanced over the different applicator options available from the street-doc but wasn't looking all too interested in any one over the other.

"Spacer, but planet hopper is a better term. Lived in one dreg or the next across the galaxy trying to get by. Plenty the same across the galaxy in most places, different flavors."

"Mostly the outer rim? Or did you spend a lot of time in the core worlds?" Alsten asked. Not really having a home of his own at the moment, he was curious about how these sort of things worked.

Not that he was sure he wanted to live his life on a ship either.
