EVENT: Sullustian Stand-Off (D2EE, limited)

Sullustian Stand-Off

Day: Day 2
Time: Early Evening
Location: Bazaar
Participants: Up to 4 players
Difficulty: Medium, this combat should be doable for most characters.

The Bazaar is a hustle-and-bustle of activity as usual. There's loud haggling, some insults thrown around, and then there are those who are just quietly passing through and minding their own business. And suddenly there's a surprised scream from a Sullustan seller, as a Trandoshan customer pulls a blaster on him.

There's immediate panic and chaos. But that is also an opportunity; for violence, for maybe earning some reputation...

Upon joining this Event, roll Vigilance (Willpower) for Initiative and state your Defense and other important info.

The Trandoshan and his three buddies start at a Medium distance to the PCs, with the Sullustan seller.

Bonus: If the Sullustan is saved before the end of round 3, he will reward the PCs as a sign of gratitude.

Kaddhur was raised with the idea that if you buy something significant (a piece of art, a dactyl mare, a jetpack), you should return to the seller in the days following. Depending on whether or not you found the purchase worthy of the price, you might be bringing small gifts, public praise, questions, quibbles, complaints, or several armed friends.

Kaddhur, quite pleased by his purchase, has come with a small bag of snacks he had been assured would be pleasing to the Sullustan conveyance-merchant’s palate. What he finds causes all of his plumage to fluff to fighting size!

Kaddhur wasn't the only one walking the bazaar this evening. Chomaron had returned to take another look at weapon upgrades for the Bounty Hunter on the go. He felt more than heard the intake of breath, the flush of panic.

There was fast, and then there was Karkarodon fast

HK noticed the altercation, and buzzed threatiningly.

"Query: Is this how one speaks to the manager around here?" He raised his manipulator towards Betsy.

Addy wasn't far from Chomaron's side, having been accompanying the large fellow into the market for this or that. Checking out some gizmo nearby when she noticed Cho go alert, dropping whatever it was as she looked and took in the scene as the screams cut their unique identity through the crowds.

Destiny: HK-51 and Chomaron, as Bounty Hunters, recognize the Trandoshan as Hssildrog - a Trandoshan mercenary with a bounty on his head. The Exchange wants the reptilian merc dead or alive for renegging on a deal and injuring one of their important members.

Hssildrog and the three pirates (minions) are at Medium range from the PCs. Hssildrog has a gun drawn, the minions have not yet drawn their weapons.

Hssildrog is Adversary 1 (upgrade diffiulty of all combat checks against him once) and has no Ranged or Melee Defense.
The Minions have 1 Ranged and Melee Defense from their armor.

HK moved his arm to his back, where Bets was visible. He drew her in a surprisingly fluid motion, and aimed. He recognized the Trandoshan...Hissdog, was it?

"Warning: Step away from the useless civilian. This is a citizen's arrest. You will get one warning shot."

And he shot the trandoshan square in the middle.

"Warning: You have been warned."

The shot went through and hit the Trandoshan right on. Hissing and howling in anger, the three pirates with him ready themselves to answer back.

Panicked meatbacks run everywhere, and some bump roughly into HK. (Take 1 Strain from the Threat).

With the droid's warning shot proving highly effective Chomps charged in and batted the Mercenary's blaster right out of his hand. "How's about you an' me wrassle?"

The Karkadon's teeth find purchase on the Trandoshan's hand. And the blaster fell to the durasteel floor with a loud noise as he was unable to hold on to it and tear himself free.

"You are worthy in the Ssssscorekeeper'ssss eyessss." Hssildrog replied to Chomps' challenge.

Kaddhur had been in some fights since leaving Arar, but not many. As such, there were many parts of the rich vocabulary of Araran Mandalorian warfare that he had only heard of secondhand from other warriors who had sought their destiny among the stars -- fighting-in-tight-spaces and fighting-with-flightless-allies-who-can-stand-their-ground being two of them.

As such, although he can't resist taking flight with his new jetpack, he doesn't immediately start swooping about in classic Araran hit-and-run style. Instead, he draws his short-barreled rifle from the holster on his thigh and sites down it at the armored enemies. Two brief blasts burst out from the bobbing bird-man.

ooc: Maneuver to draw, maneuver to accelerate (2 strain, no system strain). Shoot spending destiny to upgrade.

The Mandalorian-birb is a talent that is too much for these goons to handle. They had probably never even flown with a jetpack in their life!

One bolt hit one of them right in the shoulder, causing him to tumble over and fall to the floor. Another shot landed right in the chest, causing the second one of them to go down like a sack of space-potatoes.

As the scene quickly erupted further Addy had a spare few seconds of watching Chomaron run in before she took off alongside him. Blaster-fire from Kaddhur flying passed her as it struck the goons ahead, downing two of them. While the third fell into her sights she vaulted, sliding over the table and swinging for a kick at the last but he had the prescience to dodge back a bit. Merchandise clattered as it scattered to the floor while Addy's boots found purchase on the ground once more.

Maneuver: Move to Short.
Extra Maneuver (-2 strain): Short to Engaged with minions.
Action: Brawl Attack, Minions.

The thug had planned on bolting after seeing two of his friends go down, but the lady suddenly trying to kick him in the face put his thoughts to defending himself.

Drawing his blaster, he fired wildly at the captain, which gave him some breathing room to draw away. "Boss! Let's get out of here!"

"Sssscorekeeper blessss me!!" Hssildrog growled, as claws met jaws in a battle of muscles, sweat, and... not much blood.

The Trandoshan's claws scraped against Chomps, but couldn't cut through the naturally thick skin of the Karkadon.

There was a deep vibration as a nasty laugh was emitted from the Karkarodon. "Scorekeeper thinks yer a punk. Night night pal."

Chomps grabbed the Trandoshan with both massive hands and clamped his mighty jaws around its unfortunate throat. It didn't take long to choke him out. "And that's a Bounty."
