"Ow! So what am I supposed to do with you, huh?" Drawing her knees up and tucking her feet under her on the upholstered seat, Pirri wrinkled her nose at the creature hunched on the tea table. It was stuffing its beak with the oily leftovers of a packet of spicy poppers, which moments earlier it had encouraged her to surrender more quickly by chomping her thumb. "I don't even know if that stuff is good for you."
As luck would have it, the lobby of the Blue Jawa was not very crowded at this hour--not that this was an especially unusual spectacle by Port Nowhere standards anyway.

Ava already got a harness for her new small wolf. She wasn't sure if she (she had to check the little one's crotch for this) liked her new name of "Coco" but the Zeltron wouldn't concern herself too much with it.
"You wanted one of those things?" Ava asked. Coco took the moment to sploot onto the floor, clearly exhausted from the earlier escapades. Shopping in addition to all the commotion was hard!
"Is that how it's supposed to work?" Pirri pursed her lips and studied the stumpy-legged canid beast flopped on the floor. "I just stopped it from getting away. And now it doesn't want to go."
The monkey-lizard giggled malevolently, scattering a few spicy crumbs across the tea table.
"It's like any other hot goods, I guess. Sometimes you're stuck with what you grab, for a while."
The scraggly critter blew a raspberry at that. How did it even blow raspberries with a beak, anyway?

Coco's eyes closed; she didn't seem to care that Pirri was studying her. "You couldn't put him in a cage or something?" Ava asked, though she wasn't sure if the Chiss wanted to. Or even could. "You give him a name at least?"
"I don't think he'd like that. I wouldn't." And just like that, it was a he. Deftly, Pirri snagged one last popper for herself, ably avoiding a retaliatory monkey-lizard beak-chomp.
"Did you name yours? Why?"

"I can't say I enjoy cages, even when I agreed to try it," Ava said with a wink. She knelt down to her new pet and gave her a few pats. "Why wouldn't I name a new companion? This is Coco!"
