Day: Day 2
Timeslot: Early Afternoon
Location: Hangar
Participants: Unlimited
As always, the Hangar is a place of activity. Different ships are unloading different kinds of cargo, some of it legal, some of it less so. One on the shadier side of the law is a cargo-load with exotic animals to be sold as pets to the wealthy. Kowakian Monkey-lizards seem particularly popular this year - clever little buggers. Perhaps too clever…
The details are uncertain because it happened so fast, but what is known for certain is that there were suddenly some monkey-lizards on the loose, that are opening up all the cages. And running off with bits and pieces from other shipments. Other animals join the chaos as they try to run off, find food, or steal some shinies themselves.
It’s now all a big circus with wild monkeys as various smugglers and traders are chasing around after the monkey-lizards, as well as trying to save their cargo from the others in the hangar…
… Chaos is an opportunity for most.
---------------------------------
Advantages/Threats will be a 2:1 trade-off, where 2 Advantages will give 1 Boost to your next roll, and 2 Threats will give 1 Setback to the next roll.
Step 1: Monkey Business!
It's all very chaotic, so you need to find an opportune moment.
Roll either Perception (Cunning) or Vigilance (Willpower) against Average Difficulty with 1 Setback due to the chaotic environment. If successful, luck is with you and you see a good opportunity to get something for yourself in this chaos, and you may proceed to Step 2.
On a failed roll, you may proceed to Step 3.
Step 2: Get Your Hands Off It, You Damn Dirty Monkey-Lizard!
To get your hands on some opportunistic loot, you can choose one of the following alternatives:
- Sticky Fingers: Roll Skulduggery (Agility) against Average with one Upgraded Die and one Setback due to the chaos of the scene. This is basically taking something without others noticing, be they a monkey-lizard or a person.
- Watch Out!: Roll Deception (Cunning) against Average with one Upgraded Die and one Setback to basically divert attention away from you.
- Helping Hand: Rather than being a sneaky git, you can decide to help the traders by trying to round up the Monkey-Lizards! Roll either Leadership (Presence) or Survival (Cunning) against Hard Difficulty with one Upgraded Die and one Setback to take control of the situation to get the little bastards. This option awards no loot in this step, but you automatically pass Step 3.
In case of a Failure, you may still proceed to Step 3. A Despair on a Failed roll will upgrade the difficulty of your check in Step 3.
Step 3: And Your Little Monkey Too! [Optional]
A Monkey-Lizard would make a pretty awesome pet too, why not make sure one of them gets a good home?
If you chose a Helping Hand option in Step 2, you do not need to roll and will be gifted a Monkey-Lizard for free by the traders as thanks for your help in salvaging some of their cargo.
For those who want to get themselves an exotic Monkey-Lizard pet (or another similarly small-sized animal, up to the player), they may choose one of the following options to capture one:
- Here, Monkey Monkey Monkey: You try to lure the Monkey-Lizard to you with offers of treats and goodies (that may or may not exist), using Charm (Presence) against Hard Difficulty.
- Crikey What a Beaut!: Just grab it! Just wrangle one within reach. Use either Brawl (Brawn) or Athletics (Brawn) against Easy Difficulty, with two setbacks to avoid drawing attention from the traders.
