Due to me being out of if sunday and monday with my migraine, we're postponing day-change by 1 day. So dayflip will be on wednesday (the 3rd) instead of tuesday (the 2nd).

I'm looking at the rules again (really Genesys) and I'm reminded again about the whole Advantage = Boost Die to the next ally thing which isn't existent here. Personally, I like the 2 advantage for one boost to the next ally personally but I'm wondering what are people's experience when it comes to running to the game RAW? It feels a bit too powerful and huge potential for snowballing but I wanted to get people's consensus on their experiences?

So, in RAW and this game as well, that boost to ally is generally an option during combat. Options like that can only be selected once. So, on the combat you can't just dump a whole bunch of boost onto the next person but drop them one and have to select another use for your other advantage. (Which can be the other option where you spend two advantage and give it to whoever you want)

The 2 advantage for 1 boost here is a alteration of the mechanic for a PbP environment with events which are technically encounters in themselves and allows advantages an easy method of being worth something in that event atmosphere.

Oh, right. I didn't see the only select once part in the RAW. I guess I was afraid of the runaway Boost train. I guess the 2 for 1 here is probably more liberal then.

Thinking of running the system to people who don't often RP and explaining and them using the chart is proving to be a bit of a hurdle.

Yeah, the 2:1 trade-off is basically a way of formatting Advantages within the scope of an Event.

(Outside of combat)
Skill rolls each have their own entries into what the varies Skills can do with Success, Failure, Advantage, Threat, Triumph, and Despair. However, all of that is also guidelines and possibilities. The system is meant to encourage creativity and input from players of "hey, I rolled 3 Advantages on my roll here, so can I use that to do an extra thing?", and GM may say yes or no (or good ol' "yes, but", "yes, and", "no, but", and "no, and").

Understandably, that's a thing that doesn't work as well in structured Event-formats. Hence why the Boosts and Setbacks get to shine more in these things.

I suppose I'm only realizing now that this system is such a different animal outside of PBP. Strangely enough, I'm starting to wonder if this system is actually better on PBP than table top...because dice maths.

Ah ah, if math courses were useful for anything, it's been for helping me math out people's end results with the dice relatively quickly.

From everything I've heard it works alot better in table top. I've only played it the one way though.

I can see both being true now that I think about it. However, how it's been formatted in the games so far, it seems pretty done well for PBP. Like I'm sure we're missing a little in translation but it seems fine.

I will vote in favor of it working better in PbP format actually.

Simply because PbP gives you a bit more time to think through the outcome of dice-rolls. In tabletop, it's a lot more "flying by the edge of your pants", at least for me. And for me it helped a lot that I have players who are very creative and keen on giving input in narrative systems like this.

I think the main thing I've found to be a little difficult with PbP is translating the oomph of Obligation rolls into the format. Especially for the games that are a bit more open/bigger.
