Teffa had no clue what this Black Book was about but merely nodded along in agreement to what it was. It seemed that the parties who knew of such a thing were in awe of its existence. The assortment of treasure were likely a distraction to the real prize but easily something that had Teffa's attention as it was something she understood at least. A wedding and royalty too?

"Sooo...The Hapes! Uhm, there's some dark secret about them too, right? Skeletons in the closet and the like? I'm only guessing that there's has to be a hook with these people."

"It's real." Olon said. "And yes, somewhat out of date. But finding the answer to one question can lead to the answer to more, just as a jigsaw puzzle becomes easier the more pieces you've filled in. The Black Book represents a great many pieces."

"Sooo...The Hapes! Uhm, there's some dark secret about them too, right? Skeletons in the closet and the like? I'm only guessing that there's has to be a hook with these people."

That made Olon laugh softly. "Oh, yes. A great many skeletons in the closet. Nobility have more than most; perhaps its the size of their closets. But it shouldn't be necessary to get too close to the royal family. If it becomes necessary..." She pursed her lips a moment, "-we can discuss skeletons further."

Processor purring, HK spoke up.

"Statement of disbelief: I thought the Black Book was merely a bait to catch unaware criminals into looking for it, and then to be snatched up by intelligence operatives." He shrugged mechanically. "Confirmation irregardless: I am here to mark a debt, so I will help Olon. Although my skill set is limited. I assume ideally you want minimal casualties on the job?"

Hearing the Black Book mentioned, Jedra whistled. He wasn't particularly knowledgeable, but he had heard of the 'holy grail' of the thieves and swindlers. With information like that, a lot of money could be made. Not that the part involving the crown jewels sounded bad either, the young pantoran running his fingers over the many rings he wore. "So, we are crashing the wedding, then?" An eyebrow rose to indicate a question. "Do we know why the Herpes... Hapes have the book?"

Chomps looked around at the diverse team Olon had assembled. This was going to be one of those once in a career jobs. Maybe he'd get to bust a few heads. This kind of thing was worth it for the rep alone.

Hearing the Black Book mentioned, Jedra whistled. He wasn't particularly knowledgeable, but he had heard of the 'holy grail' of the thieves and swindlers. "It is in their vaults, locked away with other treasures their privateers acquired..." VIRGO's words trail off, as if there is insufficient data to complete the sentence. "It is 96.4% likely that they are unaware of its true nature. Hapes has long had pirates and privateers among their numbers, a common thing to do for the males of their society, and not all of their loot makes it into circulation. The Black Book was last observed to be in the vaults of the royal palace seven months ago."

[Jedra Cha]

Bleep bloop... Jedra thought to himself as he turned to VIRGO. "Well, those are pretty good chances." he nodded, unable to argue with mathematics. "Ha. Right. Well. Color me interested. I suppose there is a plan?" he glanced at Olon. "Or are we here to come up with one?"

[Teffa]

She nodded twice. "Pirates and privateers...they keep swell company to be squeaky clean and proper, that's for sure. I guess it makes things easier on the mind if you're stealing from thieves but I bet that probably means that they have people there with the same idea. Or had the same idea, at some point in time. Will there be much competition?"

[Kaddhur]

As has often been the case since he took flight from Arar, Kaddhur has no real idea what people are talking about. This time, he remembers to keep his ignorance-betraying questions to a smaller, less embarrassing forum.

He does perk up at "pirates and privateers." When he heard "party" he was immediately bored, and feared more boredom was to come.

"These Hapes," he says, mangling the collective noun to a single syllable version of the planet name, "they are warriors? Do they have wings?"

[Gruwmun]

That brought Isond's head back up from drawing up data on Hapes from her pad. "Observed? Agent on the inside already, or...?"

Their fingers slide over the pad drawing up a translation of sorts, as Gruwmun growled right past her scant lessons in
the language. Nodding mostly to herself at the confirmation of that quick scan of Hapes information. "Warriors enough that fighting our way in is a losing bet." With a hint of a smile, they add, "Thieves enough to make this challenging, I think."

HK whirred, his processor chirping. "Curiosity: Is there expectation of bloodshed during this operation?" He leaned forward, mechanical clicks and clacks following his movements.

[VIRGO]

That brought Isond's head back up from drawing up data on Hapes from her pad. "Observed? Agent on the inside already, or...?"

"I've successfully infiltrated their security feed unnoticed once to confirm this myself. As much as it annoys me, their data security is very top of the line and further attempts would be likely to trigger their defenses. Alerting them would be counterproductive to our goals, especially as the Royal Chief of Security is notoriously paranoid - especially regarding Olon."

Through unseen digital commands, VIRGO switched the display over to a new picture.



"Lyza Stross, Chief of Palace Security for the past three years. Thirty-one years old, impeccable record in Hapes Security."

HK whirred, his processor chirping. "Curiosity: Is there expectation of bloodshed during this operation?" He leaned forward, mechanical clicks and clacks following his movements.

"Oh, quite likely. A target like this, it will need more than just thieves and catburglars. The idea is to divide into teams and striking more or less simultaneously, and our toughest guys will have the fun job of diversion. Be a big enough threat to draw some of the attention away from the other teams." Syneisha smirked at the droid. "I'm sure some of you don't need an excuse to cause some mayhem."

[Alsten Linth]

Well, he likely wasn't going to be part of that team... his eyes shifted around the table and over the various slender and pretty individuals present.

"Found our antagonist," Addy commented, her request implied. Drinking some more of her tea as she quirked a brow over at VIRGO Settling it once more on her leg as she glanced from display to machine.

"Got more on her?"

"A fair amount, yes. But not her shoe size," VIRGO said with some humor in her voice. "Born on Hapes, raised by her father, she's worked hard to reach her current position as it has not been one granted by nepotism or briberies. A rarity really, considering she is not nobility. It speaks much of her talents and skills."

The chatty AI kept going. "And yes, data indicates that she is very likely to be one of the big obstacles there. It is also why all of you were selected as Hapes will have no criminal records or knowledge of you, thus you will not draw suspicion."

[Chomaron Paladash]

"Hey I can network with the best of 'em. Diversion sounds fun though. They got any Bounties out?" It wouldn't hurt to have a respectable reason for being there.

[Virillo Kamon]

"Shoe size? I'd guess an eight." Alsten replied with a smirk. Not that shoe size really mattered all that much. "Either way, she sounds like a professional and good at her job."

"Think I'd prefer someone that was planning place because of nepotism." He glanced towards where the A.I. was projecting. "I assume her position is pretty secure? Not a lot of chance of her loosing her job?"
