[Isond Vaal]

Isond has a scanner to pick up, and thoughts about finding at least one outfit that won't look out of place on Hapes. Maybe with some rehab, the jacket would be fine. At least in the evening when it had to be a bit cooler out, right?

But there's always something else catching the mechanic's attention. Delicate papercrafts that offered inspiration for folding instruments in clever new ways? Probably weren't going to travel well. Several supposedly cutting edge fabrication materials supposedly smuggled out of top secret labs lose out to indecision about which one to pick up a bit of, since there weren't enough credits to sample them all. The very clever specs for a microdroid crafting scope was, sadly, both too expensive and too fragile to be traveling with.

Eh, there wasn't anything pressing in the next few hours. No reason not to enjoy the window-shopping, and the occasional shout as some critter popped up that had been missed yesterday.

[Faily]

While it wasn't unusual to see muscular thugs around Port Nowhere, it was another experience to see two of them clearly looking around the Bazar for someone, as they methodically stopped to check the stalls and booths before moving on.

[Isond Vaal]

OK, definitely better to learn who they were looking for before finding it that it was you, since that's frequently a possibility when you're living a criminal kind of life.

Isond tries to fade back into the crowd and circle behind to see if they'd been asking anyone questions.

OOC: Isond can roll Stealth (Agility) against Average difficulty with one upgraded die (so 1 red, 1 purple). Also gain a Boost to the roll for the environment, as there's plenty of places and people to hide amongst.

Isond quite casually squats down to examine things on a lower shelf, trying to keep an ear on their passage as she scooted toward a draped table for some kind of cover.

Isond successfuly evade their notice, and as they pass by her, she overhears some of their conversation.

"Why's the boss so keen on finding out what the old lady's up to?"

"Look, we don't get paid to ask questions. All I know is he's asking us to interrogate those that Olon's working with to find out - and that's fine with me."

"Pity we don't get to interrogate that Zeltron lady though."

The conversation continues in this vein as they continue on, passing her by and moving further down the bazaar.

As the coast seems clear, Isond can notice someone standing next to her. "You're one of those they're looking for," a feminine voice spoke. (Despair activated)

[Isond Vaal]

They look up. "Maybe. Maybe I just prefer being safe to being sorry. You'll notice a certain...thinning of the crowd up there, I'm sure." Isond's never lied particularly well. But buying a few seconds is, well something.

[Faily]

A Zeltron woman turned over the lollipop in her mouth.

"Hmmm... no, I'm pretty sure they're looking for you. I've heard you're working with Tenel Olon," she said in a musing tone as if she considered what to do with this fact.

[Isond Vaal]

"I have, in fact, worked with herself." They don't bother standing just yet, but there's some definite review of best scuttling routes.

"And I've got a vested interest in keeping a reputation for not spilling my employers' business. Nobody wants to hire slicers who plan to give themselves a raise by slicing and selling their secrets as a bonus on top of the contract."

She sighs. "Sooo, what's the going rate for not making it obvious that I'm over here? Assuming you're not already working for," one thumb jabs back over a shoulder toward the sound of the toughs rolling through the crowd, "their boss."

[Faily]

"Oh, I'm not with those brutes, no." Her pink little nose wrinkled in disgust. "But, hmmm... I could be convinced to not rat you out. Promise I'm not going to leave you to another gangster, of course."

She shifted her shades up, letting them rest at the top of her head as she watched the goons turn a corner and go out of sight. "You can stand up now."

[Isond Vaal]

Isond peeks warily out at the crowd as she rises. Seeing that the stranger was telling the truth they straighten the rest of the way. "Thanks, mystery lady who says she won't sell me to a gangster."

"I do appreciate that." They pause, considering. Oh fine, only polite. "I'm Isond, by the way."

[Faily]

"I'm Violet," she offered a handshake along with the introductions. "I have an... employer, who's looking to have some useful people on hand. Nothing like what those thugs would do to you, of course. Would just be one favor."

[Isond Vaal]

Isond returns the handshake with calibrated firmness. "Depends on the favor, and the timing, since the already lined up job has deadlines. But I'm always up to discuss work...favors...that kind of thing."

[Faily]

"It's going to be a simple one, I'm sure. And they're quite flexible on the work schedule too," Violet assured Isond in a very friendly tone. "You good with computers, yeah? I've never had much head for them myself."

[Isond Vaal]

"That's definitely my line of business that pays best," Isond agrees. "So I guess I'm hearing what they have to ask, at least." They remain friendly, even if the wariness isn't likely to vanish just yet.

[Faily]

Violet gestured for Isond to follow her as she stepped away from the main path of the bazaar. Just to get out of the way, and to be a little bit private in what she had to say.

"I will have to get in touch with my employer to inform them that I now have someone who can cover the needs for computer-works. See, I have it on good credit that a couple of folks are heading out to Hapes soon, for the royal wedding that's gonna happen there." There was a certain vibe to her smile that hinted that she had an idea who.

Probably a good idea that they had both avoided Nok Drayen's folks. "My employer will have a need for someone good with computers there. Just a little thing, really, from what I understand."

[Isond Vaal]

"Don't suppose you want to fill me in on who your employer actually is?" They say, following along, while neither confirming nor denying that they were headed to Hapes. "I"m not super picky, mind you."

[Faily]

"Oh, that's good to know." Casually, Violet discarded the now empty stick of her lollipop into a nearby trash-can. "Really good to know, actually. Some people get all sorts of nervous otherwise. See, I'm kind of doing a bit of work for the Sith Empire - like a contracter, doing small things here and there - and this Hapes-matter landed in my lap quite recently so it's all short notice work."

[Isond Vaal]

Isond's sigh is nearly a groan. "Kriffin' politics. Of course it is."

"I'll hear them out, but if the water there looks hotter than I'd have found just bolting from those goons, I'm kicking it back as a less than fair trade." The look on her face is sour. "Couldn't have just had a nice normal bit of slicing from a normal criminal operation?"

[Faily]

"Politics is such a mess and get in the way of business, I agree," she said with a heavy sigh.

"I'll have to get in touch with them, explain the situation and all. And we'll call you up to tell you the details of the job. Does that sound good to you?"
